Course Overview

This is no longer a pathway for the Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism.

This course is designed for people with a genuine passion and interest in the festival, meeting and event sector.  This qualification will allow you to obtain, develop and practice the operational level skills required for employment in the events sector of the tourism industry.

You may be required to purchase additional class resources at the cost of approximately AU$200.


Career Opportunities

Successful completion of the training in this course provides graduates with the opportunity of employment and further career pathways in the general tourism industry, including hotels, conference venues, tour operators, attractions, visitor information centres, museums, festivals, and cruise operators.

Course Structure

To achieve a Certificate III in Events, 13 units must be successfully completed:

  • 5 Core Units
  • 8 Elective Units

  • BSBWOR203B Work effectively with others
  • SITXCCS303 Provide service to customers
  • SITXCOM201 Show social and cultural sensitivity
  • SITXVT301 Access information on event operations
  • SITXWHS101 Participate in safe work practices

Entry Requirements

  • IELTS 5.5 General Training (no band less than 5.0) or equivalent 


Recognition of Prior Learning
