Course overview

This Upper-Intermediate curriculum is designed specifically for English as Additional Language (EAL) students who want to continue their studies at tertiary level. The focus is on equipping students with the skills required for further academic study in an English speaking country. Successful completion of this course will give you direct entry into any TasTAFE certificate or diploma with English entry requirement equivalent to IELTS 5.5.

The course covers academic writing, reading; correct referencing convention and research skills. Students also study note taking and oral presentation and continue to develop pronunciation, personal study skills and class/group discussion skills. The course consists of four skill areas – speaking, listening, reading and writing.
