Course Overview

This course is designed for people who wish to develop specialist expertise in the music industry and learn how to apply sound production principles in practical situations such as setting up and operating stage monitor systems and composing and producing sound recordings.

The Diploma follows the Certificate IV which teaches the skills and how to apply the skills in technical production in the Music Industry. The Diploma teaches how to manage the skills.

This course aims to provide a wide range of both higher level technical skills and relevant management skills for those who wish to work in the Music Industry.

This course is suitable for people who have completed the Certificate IV in Sound Production or people who have considerable experience in the industry looking for certification.

Course Structure

This course is delivered flexibly using blend of learning modes, including:

Classroom delivery of theoretical aspects, technical information, and research and analysis activities. Students will perform audio tasks within the general community and work on real and simulated industry experiences. Students will work in studio environments recording and producing individual projects and in collaboration with others.

To achieve a CUA50815 Diploma of Music Industry – Sound Production, 16 units must be successfully completed. These include 4 core units and 12 electives. Electives are selected based on industry and/or employer consultation.
