A community services professional makes a real difference to real people. You may find yourself providing support and assistance to people who are experiencing homelessness, drug or alcohol addiction, domestic violence, mental health issues or financial problems.
TasTAFE course in Community Services provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to work in these areas. Our community needs people passionate about counselling, community development and child protection. There are a range of job opportunities available in government and private organisations, including not-for-profit agencies.
There is an opportunity to progress to the University of Tasmania to study a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours after completing this course at TasTAFE.
The Diploma of Community Services package is comprised of the two year Diploma of Community Services course, with the option to progress to a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours at the University of Tasmania.

Pathway to University
Students who complete the Diploma of Community Services at TasTAFE can enter the Bachelor of Bachelor of Social Work with Honours at the University of Tasmania with one year of credit. Students can therefore complete Diploma, Bachelor and Honours qualifications with 5 years of study (2 + 3).
