Elizabeth College and Tasmanian Government Education have created an exciting senior high school program to guarantee students the opportunity to commence year 11 in February 2021.
As part of this program, students from China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong will be able to commence their senior high school studies online in February with a Tasmanian Senior High School, Elizabeth College, before travelling to Tasmania when border restrictions are lifted.
How does the program work?
- Commence Online Studies from Home
- Travel to Australia within 4 weeks of borders reopening for International School Students
- Complete the remainder of your studies face-to-face at Elizabeth College
- Qualify for university through achieving the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) and Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR)
Classes will be delivered by Elizabeth College and will be a combination of live lessons, recorded lessons, online tutorials, support classes and tutoring.
In the first year of the program (either online or in Tasmania), all students will study the following core subjects such as;
- English as an Additional Language
- Maths Methods
- Physical Sciences.
Students will also have the opportunity to select from elective subjects such as Art, Languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese) or additional mathematics, English reading, writing and information technology.
This will allow students to progress to more than 50 other subjects of their choosing in year 12 in order to obtain their Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) and achieve an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR), which is important for gaining admission to an Australian university.
The program will be delivered by an expert teaching team (photo below), with vast experience in teaching to international students and through online mediums.
Our teachers speak English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese and are able to provide additional support to students in these languages if needed.
Students will still receive comprehensive English language and welfare support when they are studying online.
The cost of the program will range from $10,000 – $13,000 depending on the length of online study.
While studying online, students will pay reduced tuition fees of $10,000 per year. When students are able to travel to Tasmania to continue their studies face-to-face, they will be charged an additional $1000 per complete term.
