2 Academic Year Course Package

As a student in our renowned hospitality program, you will develop a strong range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge for employment in frontline and managerial positions in restaurants, hotels, cafes, motels and other hospitality establishments.
You will be taught a range of practical skills in food and beverage, housekeeping, front-office and catering, as well as management skills such as financial operations, business planning, leadership, budgeting and human resource management.

Employment Outcomes

A senior manager in food and beverage, hotel operations manager, cafe owner, hotel or motel owner, catering manager. The average salary for a restaurant manager in Australia is AU$54,344 per year.

Course Structure

Level of study in the package: Certificate III through to Advanced Diploma. The course is a blend of theoretical and practical learning. Students will work in both commercial kitchens and TasTAFE’s own restaurants and cafes that are open to the public, providing real-life work experience.

Pathway to University

Receive the guaranteed credit of 1.5 years into a University of Tasmania 3 Year Bachelor of Business Administration.
