How to apply

Tasmanian Government Schools use an online application system for most international programs. 
Students are welcome to apply directly to us, or by using the services of one of our registered education agents in their country.

Application process:

Visit

study.tas.gov.au and submit all required documentation

Await

and application acceptance notification

3

Receive

a Letter of Offer (LoO) with payment instructions and deadline

4

Upload

a copy of LoO signed by student and parent /guardian and make the payment

5

Receive

a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and Overseas Student Health Cover Policy Certificate (as required)
If student is under 18 and opting for Homestay, we will issue a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW).

Apply

for a visa through the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

Homestay Students

must provide arrival details at least four weeks before the welfare commencement date on the CAAW.

Application checklist

To prepare an “offer-ready” application, please read the Conditions of Placement – Tasmanian Government Schools (PDF, 251KB), and have the below documents and information ready at time of submitting your application:

  1. Student’s passport copy
  2. Student’s email address 
  3. Parent’s details
  4. Current address
  5. Visa details (if applicable)
  6. School report (English translation) for the past 2 years 
  7. English language competency test results (if applicable)
  8. translated statement from your current school (if applicable)
  9. Immunisation record – optional
  10. Student biography
  11. If holding Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), please provide the certificate.
  12. Student’s intended living arrangements:
    • The student will live in the government managed homestay program or
    • The student will live with a DHA-approved guardian or private homestay arrangement. (Please provide this person’s passport/visa, address, email & phone number).
  13. Where the visa application will be lodged (in Australia or outside of Australia).
